'And finally, we are proud to present our Ice Music Fashion Show 2011 in Uummannaq, Greenland! All the hunters, all the children, all the dogs, all the violins and concert pianos, all the drums, all the foreign dignitaries, are out on the ice exactly like it was in the old days when ice was solid, when dance contests were held around seal\'s breathing holes, when songs were composed and stories were told. This is our White Party in the Empire of Uummannaq. This is our celebration of Ice that gives us life and holds us together. The \"Ice Music Fashion Show\" goes on simultaneously on and under the ice. We thought it would be fair because 90 percent of life in the Arctic is happening under the ice. While some of us stumped their feet on the ice, the others floated under sapphire iceberg watching the dancers from underneath to the sounds of violins, piano, drums and ice piling on the pressure ridges. This is the moment when the old tales told by seal-oil lamp are suddenly coming back to life. Text and images: (c) Galya Morrell Music: \"Les Papillons de Uummannaq\" (c) Serge Morrell'
