'Stunning looks as Vogue Sari kicks off Amazon India Fashion Week'

'(16 Mar 2017) VOGUE SARI SHOW KICKS OFF INDIA FASHION WEEK Vogue Sari, an event showcasing the exquisite garb, kicked off Amazon India Fashion Week autumn/winter 2017 in New Delhi Wednesday (15 MARCH 2017). More than a dozen Indian designers including Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Arora, contributed their creations based on the concept of \"Sari for day, Sari for play,\" portraying looks for day-wear as well as night-wear.  Leading Indian designers showcased their take on traditional saris and many opted to give the Indian garment a contemporary makeover.   Vogue India plans to popularize Indian wear in the global fashion community through its international magazines, a press release said.  Organized by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the fashion event this year is a tribute to the Indian handlooms, and several designers presented their work with hand-woven fabrics.     The four-day fashion show will run from 15 – 18 March.
