'JOE JONAS SITS FRONT ROW AT CARVEN\'S MENSWEAR SHOW IN PARIS American pop singer Joe Jonas sat front row at Carven\'s menswear show Wednesday at the Palais de Tokyo museum. The label\'s Spring Summer 2015 collection featured tailored suits combined with denim jackets, slim trousers hemmed with elastic bands, as well as crisp, short-sleeve shirts, summery knits and multi-pocket parkas, with elements borrowed from practical sportswear in the form of zips and Velcro. The color palate included basic black, white, grey and earthy hues, but also electric orange in a structured trench coat, as well as an oversized bomber jacket with embroidered petals, reminiscent of the pied-de-coq print traditionally seen on French apprentice uniforms. Designer Guillaume Henry explained that the inspiration for this functional and comfortable collection came from the style of the young men he comes across in the streets of Paris as they head to work in the morning. \"It\'s guys that are maybe like 16 or 20, or maybe even older, and you know they\'re working in a boulangerie (bakery), boucherie (butchery), we call them the commis de cuisine (commis chef) for example in French, and you know like they got a cool attitude but with things they would buy like as a uniform you know just to wear them to work.\" The collection\'s footwear, which varied from black leather loafers to wide white sandals worn with bright white socks, was also inspired by the style he sees not only in Paris but in London. \"I wanted a shoe super elegant, but inspired by all those big shoes that British guys would wear, and also the fat wide shoe was inspired by, we call that \"les sabots\" (clogs) en franais (in French) that all those kids would wear to go to work in a restaurant,\" Henry said. Jonas said he was excited to be attending Paris Fashion Week for the first time. Last year, he covered New York Fashion Week for New York Magazine. \"I think it\'s amazing, I think it\'s really cool to be able to come to Paris and see the shows here,\" he said.
