'Acclaimed Argentine designer Veronica de la Canal has taken a look back to Argentina\'s \"golden age\" with a colorful explosion of clothing inspired by the 1920\'s European fashion. The event took place on Monday and was hosted by Harrod\'s department store. The show highlighted the designer\'s autumn-winter 2012 collection, and it was also a farewell to the London based department store which first opened its doors in the city\'s capital back in 1914. The models hit the runway in epic gowns, many complete with corsets and adorned with stones, lace, silks, feathery headpieces and bold makeup. They sashayed down the runway to sultry tango music and beats of the 1920\'s. The event, in part sponsored by the city was the last to be held in the historic building before renovation crews begin refitting it to be a luxury hotel and shopping centre. Since officially closing in 1998 the retail space has been used in a number of cultural events including the Tango World Cup in 2008'
