'https://www.patreon.com/TheNoraShow?fan_landing=true This is my first episode of my Little Black Dress through the decades series. 1920s Flapper Vintage Fashion is a highly misunderstood and stereotyped style. I\'m hoping that my vintage sewing comes somewhere near the original construction methods and would allow me to safely time travel without the risk of being jailed or stoned for wearing something obviously unacceptable to societal practices of the time. One does need to be safe if one time travels. You can\'t just expect to get to wear your jeans and t-shirt and not cause a mess if you end up in 1928. Which is the year for the pattern of this dress. Haslam System of Dress Cutting - Book No. 5 - 1928 Vintage Sewing I sewed this dress with burnout silk velvet. I was thrilled to discover that burnout velvet was a thing in the 1920s. The burnout see through effect of the velvet allows me to wear various colors under this dress. My LBD can be a true nothing but black dress, OR I can put a color under it and suddenly the entire effect changes. Most Thrilling. The episode features a complete ensemble of: green stockings https://youtu.be/08vyJnY2tNc matching purse: https://youtu.be/bTpzuhzW8Yk double cape coat https://youtu.be/XzBLQGCi-NY and black silk slip https://youtu.be/qnmdyvMfID0 --- We are inclusive and rainbow friendly here. Wear what you like and be true to you. ---- /// Binge Me /// https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLex960Pm4KIjtXvJEH7zEb8XCJmIN2y57 /// FTC Legal Disclaimer /// - As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. - Some links found in the description box of my videos may be affiliate links.
